He also said that he ran AdAware with little success (only found cookies). Delete all files in the folder C:\Windows\Prefetch, and all files and folders located in the Temp folders for all users. It is also saying 'do you know this process' if so and you installed it then there is less likelihood of it being nasty.

I already deleted three entries for Popuppers using HiJackThis and deleted Buddy.exe from my Windows folder, thinking that would solve the problem, but the matter is more complicated than I expected.
